LV taking book donations
FARMINGTON — Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties, a nonprofit organization to promote literacy, is receiving book donations from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, May 15 to 18, at the Farmington Elks Lodge, 120 School St.
Volunteers will be ready to assist in unloading. There will be donation receipt forms available. The only books LV cannot utilize are encyclopedias, technology books, college text books or books that are torn, mildewed or water damaged. They especially cherish children’s books.

Skeet shooting at fish and game
WATERFORD — Recreational skeet shooting is held at 1 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. Thursdays at the Waterford Fish & Game Association, Route 118.
The public is welcome and should bring a shotgun and ammo. The cost is $3 a round of 25 targets.
