I am supporting Jared Golden for Congress, and I would encourage others to as well.
I knew of Golden’s work in the Maine House and his unwavering support for working folks; also, his compelling personal story. What really impressed me was when I heard him speak at an event with the other candidates in the Democratic primary. The other candidates spoke of specific issues and positions, as he did, but his closing remarks were about service to others. He told the story of how, in the Marine Corps, the lowest ranks eat first and nobody gets left behind and how service to others is a true sign of leadership.
That is the kind of leadership residents need here in the 2nd Congressional District, and I hope others will join with me in voting for Jared Golden for Congress.
