LEWISTON — Lawrence J. Dudzic, 85, of Lewiston died on Wednesday, May 9, at Central Maine Medical Center. He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 28, 1931; he was the son of Joseph and Beatrice Ouellette Dudzic.

He was educated in local schools, graduated from St. Patrick’s School and St. Dominique’s, Class of 1950. He enlisted in the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955. Growing up he assisted his parents in modern Venetian blinds and drapery business.

He and his wife, Constance, married June 23, 1956, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. In 1956, he worked for New England Telephone and retired in 1989. After retirement he and his wife traveled to the Bahamas, and in later years they bought a home in Barefoot Bay, Fla.

Survivors include his wife, Constance; two nieces, Susan Jones Kolvachic and husband, Michael, of CT, Rachel Leo Flagg and husband, Bill, of NH; a nephew, James Jones, and his wife, Elaine, of Cromwell, CT; great-nephews Ben Pilgrim of MD and Ryan Leo; and great-niece, Jordyn Leo, of Georgia.

The family would like to extend a deep appreciation to the nursing staff at d’Youville Pavilion, the RNs, med-techs and nursing assistants for the exceptional care they gave him during the past year.
