LEWISTON — Raymond N. Michaud, 80, of Stanley St., Lewiston, passed away Sunday, May 13, at his home peacefully with his family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on June 12, 1937, a son of the late William and Yvonne (Bergeron) Michaud.

He attended local schools, graduating from St. Dominic High School. He later attended The Criminal Justice Academy and received his degree as a law enforcement officer. He worked for several years in the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department, where he also played on their softball team, before going to work for Portland News Co. where he was a truck driver doing delivery for 27 years before retiring.

He married his true love, Doris Gayton Michaud, in July 1990. Raymond was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Family Church. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Celtics and the New York Yankees. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was a great NASCAR fan who especially followed Jeff Gordon. He was very proud of his family and had a great love for his grandchildren.

Raymond is survived by a son, Rick Michaud, and wife, Celeste, of Arkansas; a daughter, Debby Cornish, and her companion, Roger Girardin Jr., of Poland; a stepdaughter, Cindy Bradstreet, and husband, Charlie; stepson, Rodney Cormier, of South Paris; six grandchildren, Becky Bradstreet, Casandra Michaud, Faith Dell, Michael Cornish Zane Michaud, Jon Devoe; one great-grandson, Bryce Stark; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his “sweetheart,” Doris Michaud; stepdaughter, Brenda Cormier; three sisters, Pauline Danforth, Annette Stults, Beatrice Merrill; and one brother, George Michaud.
