I’m an Auburn resident who likes high school sports and I often attend Edward Little games. If I can’t attend, I read about it in the paper the next day.

On Saturday, April 28, I read about the Edward Little/Brunswick softball game in Brunswick on April 27 and the Red Eddies won with a 19-4 score.

The article mentioned there were four players who were repeat hitters. What was not mentioned is one of Taylor Depot’s three hits was a grand slam. How many times does that happen in high school? An out of the park home run is impressive, but a grand slam? I have never seen one. (Parents tell me it was her second one this season, one being in a pre-season game and those are not written about in the paper.)

I don’t know how the “ball got dropped” with no mention that there was a grand slam in the game. That is a very important stat.

Congratulations, Taylor. That is quite an accomplishment, and anyone who reads the Sports page should know it happened. Way to go, Taylor, and congratulations on being in the top 10 – you rock!
