NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, located in the Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building at 199 Main St., will celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day on Friday, June 1. Cancer survivors and caregivers are invited to lunch and to “celebrate life” at the center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This will also be an opportunity to meet Executive Director Mary Dempsey and learn about the center. The center will offer lunch and door prizes. Those attending may bring a friend because, according to the center, no one should face cancer alone.

Anyone living with a history of cancer, from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life, is a cancer survivor according to the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation. There are more than 15.5 million people living in the U.S. with a history of cancer.

For more information on the center call 207-890-0329, visit www.crcofwm.org or like them on Facebook.

Last year’s Cancer Survivors Day luncheon is enjoyed by many of those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
