AUBURN — Kirk D. Robinson, age 51, of Oxford passed away peacefully with his family at his side Sunday, May 27, at The Hospice House in Auburn, from complications due to diabetes.
Kirk was born in Norway on Sept. 8, 1966, a son of Winfield M. and Pauline A. (Henderson) Robinson. He attended Oxford Schools and graduated from Oxford Hills High School in the class of 1984.
A sports enthusiast, Kirk played in the local men’s softball league, he enjoyed skiing, bowling, motorcycling, NASCAR, including going to several tracks from New Hampshire to Dover, with his father and brother. He also liked spending time with his family and friends, and dining out with them.
He had worked at several local businesses, including the Advertiser Democrat in the printing department, Giguere’s Grocery Store, Positively Main Street Restaurant, Robinson Manufacturing, Bath Iron Works, local manufactured housing plants, International Paper, C.N. Brown and, most recently, Oxford Casino.
Kirk is predeceased by his father, who died Jan. 29, 2016.
He leaves behind his mother, of Oxford; his fianee, Debbie Drottar, of Oxford; his son, Jason Curtis, and his companion, Megan Mack, of Greenwood; his brother, Cam Robinson, and his wife, Joanne, of Oxford; three nieces; one nephew; four great-nieces; two great-nephews; and several cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Hospice House for compassionate care during Kirk’s last days. Also to Dr. Medd and his staff for the outstanding care Kirk received during his illness, the staff and nurses at Stephens Memorial Hospital and the professionals at Oxford Rescue, who were there quickly when they were needed.
