LEWISTON — Mary Elizabeth Chizmar, 93, formerly of Lisbon Falls, Maine, passed away Tuesday, May 29, at D’Youville Pavillion in Lewiston, Maine. She was born in Lisbon Falls, Maine, on Jan. 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Gacko) Yenco. She attended school in Lisbon Falls, graduating with honors from Lisbon High School in the class of 1942. She was married to Louis Chizmar, who passed away March 25, 2001. She was a bookkeeper in the banking field most of her life, working for Lewiston Trust Co. for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lisbon Falls. She was very fond of cooking and sewing for her family when she was physically able.
Mary is survived by two grandchildren: Michael Chizmar and wife, Daryl, of Lewiston, and Joseph Chizmar of Turner; great-grandchildren Melissa, Sarah and Louis; great-great-grandchildren Jaelyn and Novalee.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Louis Chizmar; her son, John Chizmar, who passed away in 1998; and her brother, Paul Yenco.
