AUBURN — Geneva M. Laplante, 89, of Lewiston died Sunday, June 3, at the Clover Manor in Auburn.

She was the born in Rumford on March 22, 1929, the daughter of Forest and Alice Curtis Fisher. She was educated in Lewiston schools. On April, 2, 1950, she married Louis Laplante, and they recently celebrated their 68th anniversary.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for several local factories. She loved to bowl and was a part of a bowling league for many years, and she was a longtime member of the Carlton Club, but her passion was caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; four children, Diane and her husband, David Weyers, Brenda and her husband, Brian Breton, Patrick Laplante and Michael Laplante and his fiancee, Denise Braga; her two sisters, Mary Cooper and Linda Thibodeau; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four sisters and seven brothers.
