AUBURN — Jacqueline L. Whirley, 85, of Auburn passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 6, at the Hospice House in Auburn. She was born in St. Cecile, Canada, on Dec. 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Gideon Jr. and Yvonne (Cote) Trepanier.
She was married for 29 years to Thomas F. Whirley. Together they raised two wonderful children. Jacqueline was employed as a stitcher in shoe shops most of her life. She also worked at Pineland Center as a housekeeper and retired from the State of Maine.
Jacqueline was an active member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Knights of Columbus in Lewiston for many years. She was a talented seamstress, cook, gardener and Jill-of-all-trades. Most importantly, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Kathleen (Paul) Raymond of Georgia, Daniel (Josie Sorono) Whirley of Fayette; she also leaves behind three grandchildren, Sean, Celeste and Jennifer; and five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Caleb, Dani, Whitney, Irish; siblings Rolande, Solange, Jean and Michel; and many sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Therese, Louis, Marcel, Noella, Clemence, Maurice, Roch, Raymond.
