RUMFORD — Warren A. Farwell, 88, of Rumford died Sunday, June 10, at the Rumford Community Home. He had been a former resident of Virgin Street for many years.
He was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Rumford, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford.
He had worked at the Rumford paper mill. He loved to hunt, fish and tell jokes. He was a member of the Rumford United Methodist Church. Later in life, Warren loved to cook treats and hand them out to people.
He was married in Rumford, June 14, 1952, to the one true love of his life, Shirley Milligan, who died Feb. 26, 2013. You could never find two people more in love with each other. They never had kids of their own but had many nieces and nephews who they loved as their own, including special nieces, Kathy Jasud, Sherry Dupuis Milligan, Shirley Milligan and Reta Purington. They also had others who loved them as their grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles.
You could never find more caring people than Warren and Shirley. Sunday rides and drinking coffee in “The Ole Girl” will be greatly missed.
Friends are invited to sign the family guest book and share their thoughts, condolences and fond memories online at www.meaderandson.com.
