Hot temperatures are expected on Monday across Maine. (WGME)
(WGME) Temperatures are climbing into the 90s Monday.
Some areas will warm into the 90s, but with the humidity it will feel closer to 100, because of that the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the southern half of New Hampshire as well as Cumberland and York counties.
That’s in effect for from noon to 7 p.m. Monday.
There’s also an Air Quality Alert for the Maine coast from Kittery through Acadia National Park.

Heat index values, which is what it will feel like when combining the humidity, will rise up to 102 due to temperatures in the mid-90s, and dewpoints in the upper 60s.
With these heat index values, heat stroke, heat cramps, or heat exhaustion is possible with prolonged exposure and/or physical activity.
Be careful if you are doing any exercise outside, take plenty of breaks, and drink plenty of water.
There is a potential for severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon.
