NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, 199 Main St., recently celebrated National Cancer Survivor Day with a luncheon for survivors and caregivers at its facility.

More than 50 cancer survivors and caregivers enjoyed lunch donated by Hannaford in Oxford. Guests received handmade butterflies to take home and enjoyed activities, including placing their personal butterfly celebrating survivorship on a tree. Door prizes, including gift certificates, cookbooks, plants and shopping bags were given away.

Any survivor who was unable to attend is invited to drop by the CRC between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. any Thursday or Friday to pick up a butterfly.

The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine offers a variety of free programs and comfort items to anyone affected by cancer. For more information, visit www.crcofwm.org or call 207-890-3029.
