This letter is in regard to your story “Companies avoid gun business.”
Sen. Mike Crapo of Idaho believes businesses that decide where they wish to invest or spend their money are replacing government regulation.
That’s absurd.
Choice is the essence of what free markets are all about. Furthermore, to gun owners of America, I’d like to remind them that the 2nd Amendment doesn’t apply to private individuals.
For example, it is within my rights to prohibit firearms on my property. The purpose of the Constitution is to define and limit government power. Not protect businesses.
And to those businesses that wish to not support the firearms industry I also say it’s a two-way street. As a consumer, I have a right to not do business with you.
So, thanks for the heads up about Intuit, Citigroup and Bank of America.
