NORWAY – The Planning Board has approved construction of a building to house Maine Line Plumbing and Heating LLC on Route 118, board Chairman Dennis Gray said.

Sam Cronin of Norway plans a 40- by 80-foot structure for office space, equipment and storage. The 2.4-acre site is next to Double T Fence.

Cronin has been in business for five years, working from his headquarters at 38 Lark Way off Greenwood Road in Norway.

He said he plans to begin construction in early August.

At its meeting last week, the Planning Board discussed the size of the lot and its location in the Norway Lake watershed.

“We wanted to make sure there wouldn’t be an issue with excessive phosphorous, and after hearing from him, we feel that it would be within acceptable limits,” Gray said.

Gray said the board also approved a site plan application from Tim Knowles, a pastor at Moss Brook Church in South Paris, to use the former Grover Gundrilling building at 10 Aldrich Ave. for services.

The church meets at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Paris.

A public hearing on the application is set for July 10 at the Town Office.

Grover Gundrilling closed its Norway shop in mid-2017.
