VIENNA — Dennis Price and his group, Capital City Improv, will perform a comedy show at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at Vienna Union Hall. Price will be accompanied by Julie Poulin of Monmouth and one other performer. Julie also performs with the group, Mainely Improv.
Using audience suggestions and interviews, Capital City Improv creates unique, on-the-spot comedy shows that live for one night only. In 2011, Capital City Improv was “The Dennis Price Comedy Hour” at the Emporium in Readfield. These early shows were a combination of improv, music and trivia. As the audiences grew, some friends joined the group and Capitol City Improv was born.
Price studied and performed improvisation in Chicago with The Second City and IO Theater (formerly ImprovOlympic). Since coming to Maine in 1998, Price has worked as an actor, performer, improviser, teacher and director. Currently, Price teaches theater at Winthrop High School and also directs the drama program.
Tickets for this show are $10. They can be purchased online on the Vienna Union Hall website or from individuals in Vienna. For more information on Capitol City Improv call 293-2674 or 293-2362 or email [email protected]
