GARDINER — Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center at 280 Water St. in Gardiner presents Summer Spark Theater Camp for children ages 8 to 15 from Monday, July 9 to Friday, Aug. 17.
Summer Spark gives children the opportunity to learn basic to advanced techniques for a wide variety of theatrical skills with kids their own age, including character and voice work, improvisation, theater games and creative movement.
There are three levels of Summer Spark:
• Beginner’s Camp: Session 1, July 9 — July 13; Session 2, July 16 — July 20;
• Creation Lab: Session 1, July 23 — July 27; Session 2, July 30 — Aug. 10;
• Advanced Workshop: Session 1, Aug. 6 — Aug. 10; Session 2, Aug. 13 — Aug. 17.
Since space is limited to 20 students per session, interested families should call Johnson Hall at 582-7144 to register and ensure space in the session of their choice. Scholarships are available. The camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a performance for family at 3 p.m. on the final day of camp. Campers are asked to bring their own lunch, snacks and water, and to wear comfortable clothing.
