BOSTON — Rose was 104 years old at her June 19, 2018, birthday party at the North End Rehab in Boston. She passed away Wednesday, July 11. Her husband, Dennis Kenney, passed at 55.

She loved to smile and dance. She was a member of several dance groups meeting at the Harriet Tubman Center in Boston. She graduated from Mexico High School in Mexico. She moved to Portland and retired from Maine Department of Health & Human Services in Portland. Always seeking the bright lights, she joined her now-deceased daughter, Nancy, in Boston, and remained there the rest of her life.

Rose’s parents Mary and Urbain Robichaud migrated from Nova Scotia after the Depression. Her mother lived to be 101 years young.

Rose is survived by her children: Dennis, Maureen and James. Dennis is a retired aerospace engineer and veteran, living in Boston. Dennis graduated from the University of Maine in Orono. He has two boys, Chris and Sean. Chris is a neurologist, attending the University of California San Diego, Boston University Medical School, interned at Boston City and getting his neurology specialty in San Diego. He married Mi Kim and has three children: Amanda, Jordan and Nathan. Mi has a law degree and specialized in intellectual property.

Maureen is a part-time instructor at San Antonio College. Maureen’s daughter, Nancy, is married to Todd Howery, a systems analyst at Hewlett-Packard. She has two children: Natalie and Nathan.

James is a veteran who served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. James and his companion, Anne Downes, live in Sebec. James is a professional musician.
