MECHANIC FALLS — The investigation continues into a two-vehicle crash Wednesday that involved seven people, two of whom were critically injured, according to police.

Mechanic Falls Police Chief Jeffrey Goss said Thursday he was not releasing the names of those involved until he was certain all appropriate people had been notified.

The collision occurred at the intersection of North Main and Bucknam streets about 3:30 p.m. All seven were taken to hospitals by ambulances or medical helicopter.

Goss said he didn’t want to speculate about the cause of the crash, which involved a sedan and an SUV, until the investigation is complete.
