ARLINGTON, Massachusetts — The New England Museum Association has announced that Bates College Museum of Art in Lewiston won recognition in the 2018 Publication Awards Competition.
In the Books category, “Phantom Punch: Contemporary Art from Saudi Arabia” won third place. The judges found the book “captivating” and liked the use of color in the layout.
“These awards put the winning museums in excellent company at the top ranks of our region’s institutions,” said NEMA Executive Director Dan Yaeger in announcing the honor. “Good communication design is vital to connecting museums and communities, so their success with publications reflects their success in their overall operations as well.”
Competition winners will be recognized and exhibited at the 100th annual NEMA conference in Stamford, Connecticut, Nov. 7 to 9.
