RUMFORD — Town officials are looking for people who would like be on a town beautification committee.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Rumford Falls Auditorium, ideas will be shared.
To date, the committee includes Stephanie Reed, government summer intern Victoria Forkus, Town Manager Linda-Jean Briggs and town executive secretary Peggy Collette.
“The beautification will not be limited to The Island, but we are hoping to talk to the businesses on The Island about capitalizing on the revitalization efforts by making the downtown more visually appealing once construction is completed.” Forkus said.
The town is engaged in a $5.4 million project to install new water and sewer system lines in the business district on The Island and improve sidewalks.
