BRIDGTON — It was a beautiful day for Bridgton’s Art in the Park this year, and Saturday, July 21, Shorey Park was filled with people out enjoying the day, buying art, listening to music and chatting with the many artists and nonprofit groups whose tents filled the park. Lovely paintings and appealing 3-D art was everywhere. A few fortunate artists received awards for their creations.
Lori Austill was awarded first place in the 2-D category for her encaustic work, Jeanette Fournier took second for her watercolor and graphite, Joanne Boswell got third for watercolor and honorable mentions went to Sue Pilaski and Larissa Davis.
In the 3D category, Anne Alexander received first place for sculpture, Conni Whittaker got second place for ceramics, Holly Best took third for jewelry and Marney Chalmers and John and Debbie Liberty got honorable mentions. Darylann Leonard received first place in photography, with Richard Snow taking second. Honorable mentions in photo went to Michael Murray and Stephen Beckwith. The “Heron” painting by Sam Morgan, which was raffled, was won by Stan Berger, who was visiting from Massachusetts.
