Blood drive Aug. 9 in Winthrop
WINTHROP — A community blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall, Route 133.
The need for blood in Maine is always critical. The drive is open to all qualifying donors and all are welcome. To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. A form of identification is required.
IHM club planning casino trip
OXFORD — Immaculate Heart of Mary Golden Age Club for those 50 and older will meet between 11:30 a.m. and noon on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the pub in the Oxford Casino.
Participants will be responsible for paying for their own lunch. Those who wish to carpool can meet at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. New members and guests are always welcome.
Reservations are required by Sunday, Aug. 12, by calling 207-576-4082.
Food pantry seeks donations
AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry has ongoing needs for the following items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned pasta, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper.
Auburn United Methodist Church collects items for the pantry. Donations may be brought to 439 Park Ave.
