SOUTH BERWICK (AP) — Police in Maine are searching for the owner of a large lizard that got loose.
The Portland Press Herald reports South Berwick police found the lizard soaking up rays in a garden Thursday. Police shared a photo posing with the large reptile on the department’s Facebook page. Officers included a picture of Godzilla for a little humor.
One Facebook user speculated that the lizard was a Savannah monitor.
Anyone with information about the wayward lizard is asked to call South Berwick police.
