SALEM TOWNSHIP — Dakota Descheneaux, 24, of Salem was arrested Wednesday and charged with speeding 30-plus miles over the limit and driving to endanger.

While on a routine patrol at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday in Salem Township, Sgt. Nathan Bean of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office clocked Descheneaux driving 98 mph in a 50 mph zone. As Bean turned on the vehicle, Descheneaux attempted to turn into a driveway at high speed. He failed to negotiate the turn and skidded into some trees.

Descheneaux was not injured. He was taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.

A conviction on each of the misdemeanor charges would carry up to 364 days in prison and a fine of up to $2,000.
