DENMARK — The Denmark Arts Center presents the group Ameranouche at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.

The award-winning group (pronounced uh-mare-uh-noosh) plays a style of music they call “Gypsy Flamenco Swing.” The name is derived from two words: American and Manouche — the gypsy tribe of guitarist Django Reinhardt. The ensemble plays acoustic gypsy-inspired music, mixing flamenco, bebop and jazz swing influences. Played on traditional French jazz guitars, the music is rhythmic, vigorous and elegant.

Tickets are available for $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (65-plus) and $8 for kids under 18. All tickets are general admission; members receive priority seating. Lobby and concessions open at 7 p.m. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended.

The Denmark Arts Center is located at 50 West Main St. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit www.DenmarkArts.org or call the Denmark Arts Center box office at 207-452-2412.
