AUBURN — The Auburn Page Turners, a long-running book discussion group at the Auburn Public Library, announces its fall and winter selections.
The group welcomes the public to read and discuss a preselected title the first Monday of each month at 12:30 p.m. in the library’s Local History Room.
The fall lineup kicks off Sept. 10 with a discussion of Joanna Cannon’s debut novel “The Trouble with Goats and Sheep.” Set in 1976 England, 10-year-olds Grace and Tilly decide to start their own investigation of the disappearance of their neighbor Mrs. Creasy.
The Oct. 1 selection is “The Orphanmaster” by Jean Zimmerman. Set in 17th-century New Amsterdam, which today is Manhattan, 22-year-old trader Blandine von Couvering and British spy Edward Drummond investigate the mysterious disappearance of orphan children.
Other titles to come include “Euphoria” by Lily King on Nov. 5; “A Fine Balance” by Rohinton Mistry on Jan. 7; “Future Home of the Living God” by Louise Erdrich on Feb. 4; and “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City” by Matthew Desmond on March 4.
