LEWISTON — Gary Clarke Allen, 71, of Lewiston died Saturday, Aug. 11, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born April 6, 1947, in Newport News, Va. He was the son of Gratton and Arlene Clarke Allen. He graduated from Bangor High School. He served five years in the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed in Vietnam and Thailand. He worked many years as a welder at BIW and local metal fabrication shops. He met the love of his life, Nuthan Lord, in 1976, and they had been living together ever since. Gary loved to tinker around fixing bicycles. He had a passion for car racing, and enjoyed playing on his computer and buying and selling things.
Survivors include his companion of 40 years, Nuthan Lord, of Lewiston; five siblings: Bob Allen, Debbie Hill, Teresa Kerry, Dennis Allen and Greg Allen.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three siblings: Buddy Allen, Cheryl Allen and Johnny Allen.
