NORWAY — Today Benjamin Tucker III looks back on his childhood in Norway during the 1950s and 1960s as a golden time in the lives of what he calls the “luckiest generation of Americans” who were raised by the “greatest generation of Americans.”
At the Norway Museum and Historical Society, on the corner of Main and Whitman Streets, Tucker will gather together friends to reminisce with him about those early years at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21.
Some of those friends may include Stuart Goodwin, Rex Waite and Gay Ryan Farnum.
Life in Norway in mid-century was representative of small town living in villages and towns all over rural America. Norway author C. A. Stephens wrote “When life was romance still unread …” to describe growing up in this region.
The evening promises to be filled with nostalgia as these friends share humorous and poignant recollections about growing up in Norway and the surrounding areas during those exciting days of youth. In addition, Tucker will invite the audience to join in with memories of their own.
To top off the evening, the museum will serve banana splits.
