WELD — A Kennebunk man was injured Sunday morning when the SUV he was driving went over an embankment on Route 142 and rolled several times before coming to rest at a tree, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.
Driver Maxim LeBlanc, 18, received minor injuries and was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, Nichols said.
The vehicle was traveling beyond the speed limit and too fast to negotiate a corner near the intersection of Center Hill Road, he said, according to Deputy Derrick Doucette’s report.
Doucette was assisted at the scene of the accident, reported at 4:37 a.m., by Maine State Police and Weld Fire Department.
LeBlanc was issued a summons on a charge of imprudent speed and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The SUV was heavily damaged, Nichols said.
