The liberties people enjoy, as long as they do not harm others, need protection. Those include: Worshiping as we see fit without interference; freedom to responsibly possess a firearm; freedom to use property for any purpose; freedom to put into our bodies the foods and medicines we choose; and others.

Those freedoms and other social issues, such as bathroom use, statue destruction, etc., are worthy of protection from government interference.

But they, and many other “protected rights,” are under attack by do-gooder, busy-body (sometimes even nefarious) groups and politicians who think they know better than anyone else what people should choose for their own life.

As a senator in Augusta, Eric Brakey showed that he understands and believes in those liberties and rights, and will make common sense decisions and protect people’s liberty.

Eric Brakey is a hard-working, well-spoken, experienced (but not an insider), honest, conscientious Mainer.
