NORWAY — For those who enjoy Christmas music and love to sing, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year.” The Christmastide Community Vocal Choir rehearsals begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St.

Entering its 15th year, Christmastide is a gift of exuberant seasonal concerts to the Oxford Hills community. The tradition continues this year under the choral direction of Shirli Allen Heald, and the piano accompaniment of Elaine Emery.

All voices, adults and high school students, are encouraged to join. No memorization, no auditions and no church affiliations are required. New friends, camaraderie, laughs, hard work and music abound at the weekly rehearsals. All are welcome.

The Christmastide Community Children’s Choir returns for its seventh season. Elementary and middle school students will begin their rehearsals at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Second Congregational Church. New members are always welcome.

The Christmastide English Hand Bell Choir will also perform in the 15th annual Christmastide concert. Their rehearsals will start after Fryeburg Fair week. Anyone who is interested in ringing should contact director Elaine Emery or the church office at 207-743-2290.

The 2018 Christmastide Concert will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and Sunday, Dec. 16.
