NEWPORT, New Hampshire — The wedding of Moriah Jasmine Catherine Churchill and Andrew Michael Calkins was held at 4 p.m. May 26 at the Richards Free Library in Newport, New Hampshire. Amber Churchill, Ph.D., sister of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Cameron and Edith Churchill of Auburn. The groom is the son of Michael and Katrina Calkins of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

The bride wore an antique lace tea-length gown with an empire waist and a hand-pieced lace capelet made by the bride’s mother. She carried a bouquet of paper roses, hand-made out of book pages.

The bride chose her mother to be her matron of honor. Amy Churchill and Tara Anker, sisters of the bride, Paige Calkins, sister of the groom, and Charlotte Brewer, life-long friend of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Nathaniel Anker, nephew of the bride, served as ring-bearer and Lucianna Anker, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

Michael Farthing, M.D., a close friend of the couple, was the best man for the groom, with Will Richard, Amanda Nguyen, Abbi Devins-Suresh, M.D., and Audrey Bergeron attending as groomspeople.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Library Arts Center in Newport, New Hampshire.

The bride and groom earned bachelor of arts degrees at Bowdoin College, where they met. The bride also earned master of library science and master of arts in children’s literature degrees from Simmons College in Boston and is the children’s librarian at the Richards Free Library in Newport. The groom is employed at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as a laboratory technician.

The couple resides in Claremont, New Hampshire.
