After examining the candidates for the 2nd District U.S. House seat, I have concluded that, by far, Jared Golden is the best choice for the district and the country.
As a veteran, I have deep respect for a person like Golden — a combat Marine. His service is a significant positive, and voters need to be aware of it and what it means. Through it, he has placed himself at risk for the people and this country and, in the process, learned the self-discipline, ethics and leadership code that are now so rare in Washington.
Maine needs someone who will represent its residents with honor and integrity and who will look out for the people’s interests.
The people of the 2nd District deserve a representative — Jared Golden — whose soul is in the district.
