INDUSTRY — Saturday the Industry Town Hall was packed with more than 150 Farmington High School Alumni for the first annual “FHS Old Timers Reunion.”
Ruby Langen Tracy Hardy, Class of 1951, helped organize the gathering.
“I see all these people I don’t recognize,” Shirley Holt Tracy, Class of 1962 said.

Mary Pinkham Croswell, Class of 1944, graduated 74 years ago. Don Green graduated a year later.
Katherine Tracy, Joan Brinkman, Rowena Swain, Beula Green and Jean Dingley graduated 70 years ago with the Class of 1948.
Joseph Green, Class of 1950, jokingly told attendees to turn up their hearing aides for an informal business meeting.
“We’re fortunate to have a group of people that put this together,” he said.
Many raised their hands when asked if they would attend a similar reunion next year. Each class was asked to provide contact information to help plan that get together.
It was agreed to keep the name FHS Old Timers. Membership dues will help defray costs of future gatherings.

Hardy said, “I hope to be here next year. Thank you all for coming. I did put a few hours into this.”
Alan Trask, Class of 1960, honored America’s Veterans.
“We can never fully repay our debt of gratitude t othe more than 650,000 American servicemembers who died in battle or the 1.4 million who were wounded. We can recognize and thank the 25 million Veterans still living today.
“Today it is our privilege to say ‘thank you’ to all of America’s Veterans, to let them know that we appreciate them for their service and honor them for their sacrifices. The price of freedom is high. We cannot afford to forget those willing to pay it,” he said.
Alumni who had served in any branch of the armed services were asked to stand and be recognized.

Kitty Gee of Chesterville whistled The Star Spangled Banner before lunch was served. Lunch was fresh fruit cup, soup, finger rolls, potato salad, pasta salad, deviled eggs, chips and dips, pickles and olives. Several dessert options were available along with coffee, tea, fruit punch and water.
After lunch brothers Brian, Scott and Seth Cavaliere provided classical violin music. The Uking Along Duo of Susun Terese and Andy Shattuck played their ukuleles, sang and performed Hawaiian dances. Gee whistled more familiar tunes.
The day finished with more socializing and visiting.
