RUMFORD — 49 Franklin announces another season of professional comedy with Maine Event Comedy, presenting two-time Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year, Joe Trammel at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater. The show will also feature stand-up comedian Julie Poulin and host Mark Turcotte.

Described by Wayne Newton as “One of the most unique and incredible talents I have ever seen,” Trammel’s act employs music, props, costumes, and seemingly endless energy. He also opened for the Rolling Stones, Kid Rock and Alicia Keys.

Only a few months into her stand-up career and Poulin is already making waves. She reached the semifinals at Empire’s Summer Classic and performs regularly throughout the state. She’s also part of the Mainely Improv troupe and Mystery for Hire dinner theater. Turcotte has performed at New York City’s Gotham Comedy Club and was selected for the Boston, Cleveland and North Carolina comedy festivals.

The theater is located at 49 Franklin St. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day of show. Advance tickets may be purchased at Bartash’s and All That Jazz on Congress St. downtown Rumford or online at www.49franklin.com. The show is for ages 18-plus. Doors open at 7 p.m. for cash only pub-style menu and cash bar show starts at 8 p.m. Enter at the top back parking lot.
