LEWISTON — Lewiston scored three goals in the first half and was able to stave off Hampden Academy by a score of 3-2 in a girls’ soccer game Tuesday.

Sara Robert, Megan St. Cyr and Kelsie Lynch all scored goals to give the Blue Devils (2-3-1) a 3-0 halftime lead.

The Broncos (2-3-1) received goals from Amelia McLaughlin and Amelia Verhar in the second half, but they were unable to tie the match.

Gemma Landry saved seven shots for Lewiston.

Maranacook 1, Mt. Blue 1, tie

FARMINGTON — The Black Bears remained unbeaten by notching a KVAC draw with the Cougars on Tuesday.

Emily Harper scored the lone goal for Maranacook (4-0-2), while Skye Webb made nine saves.

Emma White netted the Mt. Blue (1-4-1) strike, and Mackenzie Libby stopped 10 shots.

Oxford Hills 4, Leavitt 0

TURNER — Leavitt goalkeeper Shelby Varney made 13 saves, but it wasn’t enough as Oxford Hills came away with a 4-0 win in girls’ soccer on Tuesday.

Cassidy Dumont opened the scoring for the Vikings (3-2-1), followed by another first-half goal by Ella Divivo. Emily Wallace and Gillian Grover each scored a goal in the second half.

Leavitt (2-4-1) outshot Oxford Hills 23-19, but Vikings goalkeeper Jillian Douglas made 15 saves.

Richmond 3, Buckfield 0

RICHMOND — Caitlin Kendrick had two goals to pace the host Bobcats to the East/West Conference girls’ soccer win over the Bucks on Tuesday.

Abby Johnson added a goal for Richmond (5-1-0) and Liz Johnson made three saves.

Julia Dow stopped nine shots for Buckfield (2-3-1).

Skowhegan 3, Edward Little 1

AUBURN — Alyssa Everett had two goals to lead the Indians to the KVAC A girls’ soccer win over the Red Eddies.

Emma Duffy had the other goal for Skowhegan (2-3-1), while Amber Merry made six saves.

Ella Boucher scored for the Eddies (0-4-2). Allie Annear stopped eight shots in net.

Field hockey

Freeport 4, St. Dominic 3

FREEPORT — Kerry Lefebvre scored the winning goal with less than seven minutes remaining as the Falcons (6-1) beat the Saints (5-1) in field hockey action Tuesday.

Freeport took a 3-2 lead six minutes into the second half when Ally Randall scored off an assist by Alexa Koenig.

Caroline Johnson, who scored twice for St. Dom’s, scored unassisted with 7:30 left to tie the game.

Lefebvre put in her winner about 30 seconds later.

Poland 7, Gray-New Gloucester 1

POLAND — Bri Doucette scored a hat trick for Poland, leading the Knights to a 7-1 win over Gray-New Gloucester on Tuesday in a Class B South field hockey game.

The Knights (4-2) also got two goals from Sophie Patenaude and one apiece from Emma Kilton and Ellen Marguis-Boutin. Poland scored three goals in the first half and four in the second.

Gray-NG’s lone goal came from the stick of Madelyn Cote.

Patriots (2-6) goalie Mackenzie Baston saved 10 shots, while Poland’s Ashton Sturtevant saved six in the win.

Skowhegan 6, Edward Little 0

SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan scored two goals in the first half before pouring it on in the second half to take care of Edward Little on Tuesday at home in a field hockey matchup.

Maleia Kelso scored twice to lead Skowhegan (7-0), while Elizabeth York, Emily Reichenbach, Adelle Foss and Kayla Furbush each added a goal. Rachel Tuck saved three goals in the win.

Goalie Elise Syphers saved 29 shots for the Red Eddies (3-3).

Skowhegan had 12 penalty corners against the Red Eddies’ one and also outshot EL 36-3.

Boys’ soccer

Buckfield 0, Richmond 0, tie

RICHMOND — Kyle Underhill-Tilton made 10 saves on 12 shots to help the Bobcats (4-1-1) to the East/West Conference boys’ soccer tie with the Bucks on Tuesday.

Rick Krashe stopped 12 of 15 shots for Buckfield (3-2-1).

Edward Little 5, Skowhegan 1

SKOWHEGAN — Edward Little continued its strong start Tuesday as it took care of Skowhegan 5-1 in a boys’ soccer matchup in Skowhegan.

EL (4-2) received a goal each from Wol Maiwen, Christian Beliveau, Mnawer Dubai and Xajay Brooks. Skowhegan (0-5) also scored an own goal to make it five for the Red Eddies.

Skowhegan’s lone goal came from Aiden Clark. Indians goalkeeper Zach Carrier saved eight shots, while Juan Hortado saved two for Edward Little.

Hall-Dale 3, Mountain Valley 0

RUMFORD — Hall-Dale scored three goals in the first half en route to a 3-0 boys’ soccer win over Mountain Valley on Tuesday.

Akira Warren, Alec Byron and Camden Adams all scored a goal for Hall-Dale (6-0) in the win, and Matt Albert tallied an assist. Sam Shaeffer was able to save four shots in the win.

Kyle Kenney saved 16 shots for the Falcons (3-4) in the loss. Hall-Dale outshot Mountain Valley 20-10.

Lisbon 9, Carrabec 0

LISBON — Jack Tibbetts had a hat trick to lead Lisbon to a 9-0 victory over Carrabec in boys’ soccer Tuesday.

DJ Douglass and Cam Poisson each had two goals and an assist for the Greyhounds (3-3). Justin Violette had a goal an assist, while Hunter Brissette contributed a goal.

Goaltender Sean Moore made four saves for Lisbon, while Bradley Clark made seven stops for Carrabec (0-6).

Lewiston 9, Hampden Academy 0

HAMPDEN — Bilai Hersi had three goals and an assist as Lewiston defeated Hampden Academy 9-0 in boys’ soccer action Tuesday.

Cooper Millett and Jama Abdullahi had two goals apiece. Saub Nor and Ramadhan Bishar each added a goal in the victory.

Dido Lumu made three saves and Michael Belleau made one for the Blue Devils (5-0-1). Kurtis Pelletier also saw time in Blue Devils net, but didn’t have to make any saves.

Sam Lilley made seven saves for Hampden Academy (2-3).

Mt. Abram 4, Dirigo 0

SALEM — The Roadrunners raced out to a three-goal halftime lead in an MVC boys’ soccer win for the Cougars on Tuesday.

Kenyon Pillsbury, Nate Luce, Tyson Hill and Jackson Masterson all scored for Mt. Abram (5-0-0). Jack Deming and Ian Allen combined on the one-save shutout, the Roadrunners’ second clean sheet of the season.

Dirigo dropped to 0-5-0.
