The trio of Lewiston natives had a big hand in the L/A Nordiques’ 8-1 victory over the Skylands Kings in NA3HL action Friday night in Stockholm, New Jersey.

Joe Bisson had a goal and two assists, while Sam Frechette had two goals and defenseman Cole Ouellette had three assists to help the Nordiques improve to 4-0 on the season.

“Frechette had a really nice goal to open the second period and also a power play goal,” Nordiques coach Cam Robichaud said. “I will tell you, Joe Bisson, I think he hit the post at least five times — no exaggeration, he was snakebitten. It was nice to see him finally pop one in. The guys were kind of laughing at him as he was coming back to the bench. It was unbelievable the amount of posts he hit.”

Mike Keller put the Nordiques up 1-0 with his second goal of the season just past the three minute mark of the opening period. Josh Sanchez and Hans Watson were credited with assists.

The score remained 1-0 for the rest of the period.

The flood gates opened up in the second, starting with Frechette potting his first of the season 41 seconds into the frame. The assists went to Joe Bisson and Colby Audette.

Armand O’Keefe picked up his first tally of the season at the 2:23 mark on an assist by Donovan Tehan. Watson also picked up his first goal of the season nearly a minute later, with Sanchez and Josh Malone picking the helpers.

“We have some good depth, and four lines that can score goals and three (defensive) pairings,” Robichaud said. “We had a lot of offensive zone time and a lot of pucks to the net.”

Dylan Dinzik put the Kings on the board just before the five-minute mark of the second period.

Frechette responded with 6:55 remaining in the period with a goal set up by Cole Ouellette and JP Chauvin. Bisson and Ouellette had the helpers on Chauvin’s goal with 3:02 remaining in the stanza.

“Cole Ouellete and JP Chauvin, they jump up in the play and they have an offensive side to their game,” Robichaud said. “At times we have to pull back in, but they are such good skaters that they typically push the pace and get back defensively.”

Bisson lit the lamp 44 seconds into the third period, assisted by Audette. Sanchez scored his fourth goal of the season with 4:35 remaining in the game. Malone and Ouellette picked up the assists.

The same two teams meet again Saturday at 7:10 p.m.
