The Poland Conservation Commission recently received a $2,000 grant from Norway Savings Bank to help fund improvements to Waterhouse Brook Park and build a bridge over the dam across the brook. The park is a roadside scenic area near the town center. The pedestrian bridge will link up with the 2-mile Waterhouse Brook Trail. Currently, hikers have to cross Waterhouse Brook via Poland Corner Road across a narrow bridge made unsafe by vehicular traffic. Construction of a pedestrian bridge will provide a safe way for hikers to cross the brook.
