BABSON PARK, Mass. — Grace Fitzgerald scored winner inside the left post off a feed from Emma Patterson 7:18 into overtime as the Bobcats upended the fifth-ranked Beavers 3-2 in nonconference field hockey play Wednesday.
Tori Roche deflected a long pass from Ashley Tango 4:53 in to give Babson a 1-0 halftime lead.
Taylor Lough scored an unassisted goal 5:52 into the second half and set up Bridget Thompson 42 seconds later to give Bates a 2-1 lead, but Quinn Greer answered for the Beavers about 6 1/2 minutes later to send the game to overtime.
The win is Bates’ (2-5) sixth straight over Babson (7-3).
