There are so many reasons I support Jan Collins for state Senate. The one big issue I look for in any candidate is support for the environment, because without a healthy environment, nothing else matters. People’s physical and mental health depend on clean air, water and land. In addition, personal and state economies depend on a healthy environment. If residents let Maine become polluted, people will be spending their money on medical treatments, and the state can kiss tourism dollars goodbye. Many of the state’s small businesses, such as farms and fishing, depend on a clean environment.
Collins was a science teacher for 25 years, is a blueberry farmer and has significant knowledge and experience with conservation issues. She will support policies that will keep Maine clean and healthy for all citizens.
This election is so important. I hope others will join me in support of Jan Collins.
