
Makeda Best will give a talk,”Imagination Cannot Depict — Historical Consciousness and the Arts of Eyewitness in the Civil War,” at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Kresge Auditorium. Best, the Richard L. Menschel curator of Photography, Harvard University Art Museums, will speak about artists’ engagement with the American Civil War. This talk is presented in conjunction with the Winslow Homer exhibition. The event is free and open to the public. The museum is at 9400 College Station in Brunswick.
