I am writing in support of Bruce Bickford for the Maine House. I have worked with him on several issues while we served in the House together.
Most recently, Rep. Bickford was serving on the tax committee. Because of his work on the tax committee, I recommended he also serve on the marijuana legalization committee. He brought his knowledge of tax policy to that committee to find consensus on how to develop a regulatory and tax framework. We worked diligently to find common ground on this tough issue brought to the Legislature as a result of the people’s referendum on legalization.
Rep. Bickford was also helpful as we found a path for consensus on tax conformity, which eventually passed unanimously.
Those were difficult political waters to navigate, and Rep. Bruce Bickford brought his experience to the table in moving Maine forward.
