I was delighted to read that, following his retirement from the practice of medicine, Ned Claxton had decided to run for the state Senate. I am confident that he will demonstrate the same compassion and intelligence that made him a successful doctor.
I am also confident that he will continue to display the same energy and tenacity which he used to block most of my hook shots when we were playing pickup basketball at Bates College several years ago.
