LIVERMORE FALLS — Amanda Allen has been hired as treasurer/town clerk, Town Manager Stephen Gould said Friday.
Allen, of Livermore Falls, who has been with the town for 17 years, has held many positions. Prior to the recent appointment she was town clerk, sewer clerk and General Assistance administrator.
Part-time Treasurer Barbara Robinson resigned in late summer.
Allen and Tax Collector Dawn Young, who also holds the positions of excise agent and registrar of voters, have been sharing treasurer duties and have done a great job, Gould said.
Selectmen met in an executive session Tuesday and afterward gave their consensus to Gould to hire Allen, Gould said.
Gould said he offered the treasurer position in-house and Allen was interested.
She will be paid $21.50 an hour, he said.
The town will advertise for a sewer clerk.
