On Election Day, I will be supporting Jared Golden and Janet Mills.
Golden is honest — a straight-shooter and likable. He has earned a great deal of respect by crossing party lines and, through teamwork, getting the job done — working with Gov. LePage toward securing veterans’ housing proves that. He is not against gun ownership, including automatic weapons. He believes that Social Security and Medicare should be expanded to protect senior citizens.
Bruce Poliquin, however, wants to hack away at Social Security and Medicare to support tax breaks given to corporations. I have received four postcards from Poliquin’s campaign and not one of them was from Maine. At least Golden’s campaign is Maine Based.
Mills is a proven fighter with intelligence and has the skills to win what is right for the state of Maine — helping ordinary citizens with health care, labor rights, fair public education spending and fair tax policies.
