FARMINGTON — A Bridgton man was summonsed for following too closely and operating 2,500 pounds overweight when the tractor-trailer he was driving Wednesday afternoon rear-ended another vehicle, Farmington officer Jesse Clement said.

Isaac Ferrari, 20, of Windham was headed north on Wilton Road in a 2003 Honda Civic. He was stopping for a red light at the intersection of Wilton Road and Hannaford Drive when Donald Roakes, 75, of Bridgton hit him from behind, said Clement.

Roakes was operating a 2015 Western Star tractor-trailer belonging to Donald A. Roakes, Inc., Clements said. Roakes was transporting a load of wood chips.

The Honda Civic sustained major damage but no injuries were reported.

Clement and officer Darin Gilbert responded to the accident. Farmington Fire Department assisted at the scene.
