AUBURN — Mayor Jason Levesque and Economic Development Director Michael Chammings will present two programs at the Auburn Public Library on their recent trip to China at noon and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. Mayor Levesque and Chammings will report on their economic efforts and their personal impressions of the country.

In mid-September, Mayor Levesque and Chammings visited five cities in China to promote the City of Auburn. The tour included meetings on tourism, factory tours, conversations to explore educational exchanges, and the investment of Asian capital in Auburn’s economy. The trip highlighted large-scale, commercial agricultural projects and manufacturing, while building and enhancing new and current relationships. The goal was to project Auburn as the bridge between Maine and Asia, connecting Maine-made products to world-wide consumers via Auburn’s first-class logistic infrastructure and workforce.

Both programs are free and open to the public. Those attending the noontime program are encouraged to bring a lunch. Light refreshments will be served at the evening program. The library is at 49 Spring St.
