LEWISTON – Ann M. Viens, 56, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, Mass., following a long illness and with her family at her side. Born in Peterborough, N.H., on Dec. 12, 1961, she was the daughter of Robert and Rachel Fournier Owen.

She was educated in Massachusetts schools, and was a graduate of  the Greater Lawrence Technical School, Class of 1980. On Nov. 22, 1980, she married the love of her life, Alfred “Al” Viens. They made a home together in Lawrence, and moved to the local area in 1994.

Besides being a devoted wife and mother, she worked several different jobs in retail and customer service. Always very good with her hands, she enjoyed crafts, especially crochet and, alongside her husband, was very involved in the Knights of Columbus.  She loved spending time with friends, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her sons and grandchildren. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by her loving husband, Al of Lewiston, three sons, Jerry and wife Billie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Timmy and wife Sarah of Auburn, and Matthew of Lewiston, two brothers, Paul and wife Ellen Owen of Derry, N.H., and David Owen of Lowell, MA, a sister, Susan and husband Raymond Ouellette of Dracut, Mass., three grandchildren, Abigail Grace Viens, Emily May Fongemie, and Timothy Scott Viens Jr., and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Carl.

Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home on Friday, 6 – 9 PM, with a funeral Mass on Saturday, 11 a.m., Holy Family Church. Interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery, Rumford, at a later date. Donations and condolences may be found online at www.albert-burpee.com.
