SOUTH PORTLAND — The Edward Little (3-4) overcame a 14-0 halftime deficit, then capped a frantic last-minute drive with a touchdown and conversion with 5.1 seconds remaining to beat South Portland (1-6) on in football action Friday night.

South Portland broke a 14-14 tie on a 12-yard run by Anthony Poole with 1:18 remaining, but the conversion was blocked.

Poole rushed for two touchdowns in the first half.

Leavitt 49, Morse 14

BATH — Wyatt Hathaway was 6-for-11 passing for 152 yards and two touchdowns as Leavitt stung Morse 49-14 in football action Friday evening.

The Hornets scored the first 41 points before the Shipbuilders managed to get on the board. Hathaway had a 39-yard and a 1-yard touchdown run to lead off the scoring.

Camden Jordan and Dasean Calder both had interceptions for Leavitt. Jordan also compiled six tackles inclduing two sacks. Tommy Casey led the defense with 10 tackles in return from injury after missing the Fryeburg game.

Wells 33, Mountain Valley 0

WELLS — Tyler Bridge rushed for two touchdowns and took the second-half kickoff 80 yards for a score as the Warriors (7-0) dominated the Falcons (5-2) at Wells.

Jonah Potter added a pair of TD runs, including a 63-yard burst in the fourth quarter.

Boys’ soccer

Lewiston 2, Brunswick 1

BRUNSWICK — Cooper Millett collected his own rebound and buried a shot from five yards away with 15 minutes remaining, giving Lewiston (11-0-2) a 2-1 boys’ soccer win over Brunswick (6-5-2) on Friday.

The Dragons’ Luke Cheseldine opened the scoring in the first half.

Ahmed Safi Abadir tied the game early in the second half with a waist-high drive.

Dido Lumu stopped three shots for Lewiston. Jack McDiarmid made 12 saves for Brunswick.

Lisbon 4, Mountain Valley 2

LISBON — Cam Poisson scored twice and set up two other goals in Lisbon’s 4-2 boys’ soccer win over Mountain Valley on Friday.

DJ Douglass added a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds, and Elijah Fullerton contributed a goal.

Alexei Dolitski and Riley Bedard scored the Falcons’ goals.

Monmouth 3, Hall-Dale 0

FARMINGDALE — Cody Michaud scored on a corner kick in the first half to lead Monmouth to a 3-0 victory over previously undefeated Hall-Dale in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

The Mustangs (10-2) led 1-0 at the half. Tommy Neal converted a relay from Hayden Fletcher well inside the penalty box for the second Monmouth goal. Nate Ashton completed the scoring with an unassisted tally late in the second half.

Goalie Sam Sheaffer had nine saves for the Bulldogs (12-1), while Brock Bates stopped seven to earn the win in net for Monmouth.

Oak Hill 2, Spruce Mountain 0

JAY — Oak Hill jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and was able to hang on to defeat Spruce Mountain 2-0 on Friday in a boys’ soccer match.

Caleb Leighton started the scoring for Oak Hill (8-5), followed by Riley Worth, who scored before halftime to double the lead. Oak Hill outshot Spruce Mountain (2-11) 14-3.

Spruce goalkeeper Jacob Bryant saved 12 shots, while Cole Whitten saved three in the win.

Winthrop 9, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD — Rowan Goebel-Bain stuffed five goals as Winthrop barreled to a 9-0 victory over Dirigo in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

Jared McLaughlin chipped in with two goals, and rounding out the scoring for the Ramblers (9-4) were Joel Kim and Gavin Bill.

Goalies Loegan Hodgkins and Mateo LaPointe combined to make 11 saves for the Cougars (2-11), while Jake Smith protected Winthrop with seven saves in the winning effort.

Girls’ soccer

Carrabec 2, Telstar 1

BETHEL — Lauren Chestnut and Lilly Augustine each scored a goal to lead the Cobras to a 2-1 MVC girls’ soccer win over the Rebels on Friday.

Ashley Cates and Makayla Vicneire had an assist apiece for Carrabec (6-6-2) and Aislynn Slate made seven saves.

Kaity Killam scored for Telstar (5-9-0) and Luci Rothwell stopped 13 shots.

Gray-NG 4, St. Dom’s 2

GRAY — Laurel Thomas finished with two goals for the Patriots (7-6), who pulled away with three second-half goals against the Saints (7-5) on Friday.

Alexa Thayer had a goal and assist, West Duffy added a goal, and Abby Ross and Bri Jordan contributed assists for Gray-New Gloucester.

Giselle Ouellette and Olivia Hallee scored for St. Dom’s in the second half.

Chelsea Davis needed two saves for the Patriots. Hannah Kenney had eight for the Saints.

Lisbon 7, Mountain Valley 2

RUMFORD — Giana Russo and Kiley Merritt posted two goals each as Lisbon cruised to a 7-2 victory over Mountain Valley in girls’ soccer action Friday.

The Greyhounds (10-3-1) rattled off five goals in the second half.

Sophie Ladd and Emily Richard provided one goal apiece for the Falcons (1-12). Courtney Therrien and Ladd secured the assists.

Goalies Taylor Henry and Lilly White combined for 20 saves for Mountain Valley, while Sarah Haggerty repelled six to earn the win in net for Lisbon.

Maranacook 1, Lewiston 0

READFIELD — Kate Mohlar’s first-half goal was the difference for the Black Bears in a 1-0 girls’ soccer win over the Blue Devils in Readfield.

Skye Webb had 14 saves to earn the shutout for Maranacook (9-1-3).

Gemma Landry had 16 saves for Lewiston (2-9-2).

Messalonskee 3, Mt. Blue 1

OAKLAND — Anika Elias scored a pair of goals as Messsalonskee swooped in for a 3-1 victory over Mt. Blue in girls’ soccer action Friday.

The Cougars (2-10-1) played tough. Ace Provencher scored an unassisted tally midway through the second half to cut the deficit in half for Mt. Blue.

Chloe Sisson converted a pass from Caitlin Parks to round out the scoring for the Eagles (11-2).

Goalie Mackenzie Libby was valiant in net for Mt. Blue, making 22 saves in the effort. Goalie Hannah Delguidice allowed the only Cougar shot into the cage.

Oak Hill 3, Hall-Dale 0

WALES — Audrey Bauer scored twice to pace the Raiders to the MVC girl’s soccer win over Hall-Dale on Friday.

Gabrielle Chessie also scored for Oak Hill (12-2-0), while Anna Beach and Julia Noel each had an assist. Paige Gonya made six saves.

Maggie Gross stopped five shots for Hall-Dale (10-4-0).

Winthrop 3, Boothbay 1

BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Aaliyah WilsonFalcone had a hat trick to carry the visiting Ramblers to the 3-1 MVC girls’ soccer win over the Seahawks on Friday.

Brooke Turnham made eight saves in net for Winthrop (9-3-1).

Reagan Cola scored for Boothbay (5-9-0) and Emily Crocker stopped 13 shots.
